Others argue that it is more important for schools to give prizes for other achievements (for example, for sports, music and behavior). Discuss both views and give your own opinion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Education institutions routinely employ reward programs as forms of recognition for success. Most of these awards are given for academic performance, but there is a growing number of people who believe that hard work, perseverance and talent in other fields should also be acknowledged. In my opinion, both academic and non-academic achievement should be recognized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Proponents of using reward systems as motivation for students to get high grades contend that these programs encourage more students to work hard while giving those from low-income families an opportunity to get achievement scholarships. Although opponents of rewards argue that instead of alluring students to study for prizes, schools need to promote intrinsic motivation, they forget that the simple act of exerting effort to achieve something indicates discipline and stamina regardless of the motivation behind it. On the other hand, demonstrating these qualities consistently will turn them into life habits that are crucial not only in their future university studies, but also in their careers. &nbsp;Clearly, rewarding these efforts constitutes a good starting point for creating desirable academic and professional behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The other side of the debate is represented by those who strongly believe that non-academic achievements need to be praised and honored. They argue that students have different talents, academic prowess being just one of them, and giving awards for excellence in fields such as sports, music, behaviour and so on, encourages diversity and inclusiveness. In fact, acknowledging talent in general may have further-reaching consequences than that, since developing various skills may have a positive effect on learning in general. For instance, artistic skills promote creativity, which in turn contributes to the development of problem-solving and critical skills. Likewise, sports help students stay fit and healthy, and a healthy body promotes a healthy mind. It is obvious that by praising success in these non-academic fields, schools encourage students to further explore and develop talents that can help them build both their academic and professional future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In conclusion, while praising academic success may help develop long-term study skills, rewarding non-academic achievements may help develop physical, personality and artistic skills that could affect intellectual performance while promoting diversity and inclusion.
